I’m Owen Brennan. I grew up in Somerville, third generation in a Boston-Irish family, and before I started this company I spent years on the freight docks around the Boston/Cambridge wholesale corridor — loading trucks, learning routes, figuring out which streets you don’t even try to park a 26-footer on. In 2012 I put together enough of a crew to start Middlesex Movers out of Somerville. We named it for the county because that’s genuinely where the first truck lived, and we’ve since grown into Boston proper as the work followed us in.
Today we run 20 people, 16 of them movers, split across our own trucks. Maura Kelleher runs the office — scheduling, COIs, billing, all of it. Danny Coyne dispatches the daily truck board across Middlesex County and Boston. On the crew side, Liam Cronin leads our narrow-street and specialty-item jobs, Tommy Boyle runs long-haul crews up and down I-90 and I-95, and Ray Doherty owns September 1st — the single busiest, most gridlocked move day New England has, and he plans for it months out.
